Doctor’s background:
Dr. Ammar Idlibi received his dental degree from the University of Connecticut
School Of Dental Medicine which is one of the most prestigious dental schools in
the country. He completed a two years post-graduate program in pediatric
dentistry at Tufts University school of Dental Medicine and received his
certificate of specialty in Pediatric Dentistry at Tufts in 1992.
The program that Dr. Ammar attended at Tufts University is one of the strongest
specialty training programs in the U.S. with special emphasis on behavior
management and early treatment of malocclusion (orthodontics).
After completing the Pediatric Dentistry program at Tufts, he also spent three years of fellowship
at the Department of Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics at the University Of
Connecticut School Of Dental Medicine. During his fellowship years, he participated in teaching
dental students and pediatric residents in addition to direct patient care at
Griffin Hospital and Burgdorf Dental Clinic in Hartford, CT. He has also
completed numerous continuing education courses in Orthodontics and has
extensive experience in early treatment of malocclusion, bio-progressive therapy
and full orthodontic treatment for
adolescents.
He then became Board
Certified as a Diplomate by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry in 1994
and was recertified by the same Board in 2004 (only one third of the country’s
pediatric Dentists are successful in getting Board certified) he is now a Fellow and an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric
Dentistry.
Dr. Ammar has operating room privileges at Connecticut Children Medical Center,
the Hospital of Central Connecticut and Bristol Hospital where he treated many
young children with extensive dental needs under general anesthesia.
He is also the official Pediatric Dentist for the YMCA Camp Chase and
participates in many community service activities for children’s oral health. |
