To provide high quality of dental care in a nourishing atmosphere while protecting the child’s delicate psyche and contributing to building a positive self image with emphasis on general health and well being.

How does our mission statement shape our practice?

Treating dental disease is very important, but what is far more important is how this dental treatment is delivered to a precious child. A child psyche is very delicate, far more delicate than the hard enamel of a tooth. Children’s psyches are in a constant dynamic interaction with every day’s life events and are the single determining and shaping factor of the child’s personality as an adult.

Needless to say, an adult personality is what mainly affects a person’s lifestyle, social interaction, career, productivity and the role in affecting the society in general. How do we apply all this to the delivery of our kids’ dental care? By offering our child patient with a non-threatening compassionate atmosphere, which minimizes a child’s fear (if he or she has it).

Fear is a very negative emotion that would adversely affect a child psyche. The less fear we give to our children, the better individuals we make out of them. However, some children reach us with uncontrollable high levels of fear and anxiety. Again, in this case, it is our responsibility is to provide such children with the kind of care that will alleviate their fears or anxieties if possible, rather than intensifying them. Here is one example; the ‘papoose board’ is a method of restraining fearful uncooperative children to prepare them for receiving dental treatment. This traumatizing method is still being taught in many dental schools throughout the country and is an acceptable form of behavior management (a parent consent is required). Here at Kids Dental care, we believe it is our duty to educate the parents about the overwhelming negatives of this approach and to offer a better and non-traumatizing solution for dental treatment. In this case, it could be treatment under general anesthesia (in a hospital setting) or treatment under deep sedation. Dr. Ammar will employ his training and skills in behavior management to provide a positive dental experience for your moderately fearful child. If we could make your child leave our office feeling good about himself or herself, then half our mission is accomplished. At Kids Dental Care we hold ourselves to high standards and we take our sacred mission very seriously so that you are assured your precious kids are in good hands while being offered the highest quality of dental care.
